CampusTours: Virtual College Tours

Preparing To Tour
In order to view all of the features of some virtual tours, you may need to download and install some browser plug-ins. Browser plug-ins are small pieces of software that are added to your Web browser to extend its' capabilities to display graphics, animation, sound, video and panoramic images. The five most commonly used plug-ins in virtual college tours are Quicktime, Flash, RealPlayer, Windows Media Player and IPIX.

Follow the links in the Tour Plug-Ins box on the right to download these important pieces of software. Once you have them downloaded and installed, you should be able to view most of the virtual tours on CampusTours without any problem. However, if you encounter difficulties loading any particular tour, please contact us and let us know the tour you were unable to view, what problems you encountered, and which operating system and Web browser you are using.

Troubleshooting Specific Tour Issues
Once you've downloaded and installed any necessary browser plug-ins and you still aren't able to view a virtual tour, try to localize the problem with the following steps:

CampusTours launches all virtual tours and links in small popup windows. If these popup windows are not appearing check the following: is your browser set to block popups? is Javascript enabled in your browser? (it should be) are the popup windows appearing behind your browser window? are you on a public machine that may restrict access to popups?
If the popup windows are appearing but a particular link is not working, try other links to determine if this is a localized problem and if so report it to CampusTours.
Complex multimedia presentations often require substantial amounts of physical and graphical memory. If you experience browser crashes, sluggish performance, choppy audio and/or video, shut down and restart your machine to free up additional memory.
When all else fails we suggest upgrading your browser to the latest version of Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla or Opera.
